Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 November 2026

This policy explains what information the Dramprint app and this website collect, why, and what you can do about it. In short: we only keep what the app needs to work for you, we don't sell your information, and you can delete it at any time.

Who we are

Dramprint ("we", "us") is a whisky app made in the United Kingdom by William Barman, who is responsible for your information. You can contact us about anything in this policy at hello@dramprint.com.

This website

  • We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies on this website.
  • When you answer the "Are you 18 or over?" question, your answer is remembered in your own browser (local storage) so we don't ask again. It isn't sent to us.
  • The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.

What the app collects

  • Your account: your email address and password (stored securely by our database provider – we never see your password), the username you choose, and optionally your first name, surname and country. We also record that you confirmed you're 18 or over.
  • What you add: your Dramprints (the flavour notes you tag for a bottle), your collection (bottles you own, have tried or want, with any price, size, retailer, date and notes you enter), your Dramscores, and your favourites.
  • Reviews: if you write a review, it's shown to other people with your username and score. You can edit or delete it.
  • Photos: bottle photos you add are private to you. When you scan a label you can choose to share that photo to help improve the scanner (off unless you tick it); shared photos are stripped of location and other hidden details first. When you confirm a scanned bottle, a small numeric "fingerprint" of the label is kept to recognise it next time – it isn't linked to your account.

Why we use it

  • To run the app for you – your profile, collection, Dramprints and the recommendations made from them (this is necessary to provide the app).
  • To show reviews and to build each bottle's shared Dramprint from everyone's tastings.
  • To improve the label scanner, using only the photos you choose to share (with your consent, which you can withdraw).
  • To keep the service secure and working properly.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

  • Supabase hosts the app's database, sign-in and photo storage on our behalf.
  • Cloudflare hosts this website and forwards email sent to our address.

These providers only process information on our instructions. If we add another service that handles your information, we'll update this policy first.

Links to retailers

Dramprint links to whisky retailers, and some links are affiliate links (see our affiliate disclosure). When you follow one, the retailer and the affiliate network (for example Awin) may set cookies on their own sites to record that you came from Dramprint. Their own privacy policies apply there.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete it yourself at any time in the app:

  • Settings → Privacy – delete your Dramprints, clear your collection, or delete the label photos you've shared.
  • Settings → Account → Delete my account – removes your account and everything in it: profile, Dramprints, collection, reviews and photos.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy, or object to how we use it. Email hello@dramprint.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Age

Dramprint is for adults of legal drinking age (18 or over in the UK). It isn't meant for anyone younger, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is important.
